46 y/o man comes with recurrent nosebleeds. -Patient has history of alcohol abuse & chronic mental illness. -He has been placed in homeless shelter on multiple occasions -Physical exam: swollen gum, scattered ecchymoses, hyperkeratosis. -He also has chronic ulcer on left lower extremity that does not appear to be infected. -Which mechanisms accounts for this patient's examination findings?
