Frequently asked questions

Does Oncourse prepare me for the NextGen bar exam?

Yes. Oncourse focuses only on the NextGen bar exam, with multiple-choice questions, integrated question sets, and performance tasks across the Foundational Concepts and Principles NCBE lists. If you're sitting the legacy UBE, Oncourse isn't built for that exam.

How is my writing graded?

Your short answers and performance tasks are graded by AI against Oncourse's rubrics, which follow NCBE's published method. You get a score, feedback on each issue, and a model answer to compare with. These are practice scores, not NCBE scores: the 18/24 target is Oncourse's own, since NCBE sets no pass mark per task and your jurisdiction sets one overall passing score on the 500–750 scale.

Are these official NCBE questions?

Oncourse questions are written by Oncourse and modeled closely on the NextGen bar exam's formats and question types, so you practice the way you'll be tested and build exam readiness. They aren't official NCBE questions.

When is my jurisdiction switching to the NextGen bar exam?

Jurisdictions are moving between July 2026 and July 2028. Check NCBE's NextGen decisions by jurisdiction and your admitting authority for your exam date.

Who is Casey?

Casey is your AI study partner in Oncourse. Ask about any rule, question, or task, and Casey explains it, builds flashcards and drills, and helps you plan your study. Casey is for learning, not legal advice.

How much does Oncourse cost?

$134.99 a year with a 7-day free trial, $22.99 a month, or $7.99 a week. Every plan includes the full NextGen bar exam course.
